God is a HEALER!

God is doing such amazing things on this campus and I have seen numerous healings occur and take place over the past few weeks!! Last week, there were at least 4 nights in a row where people would gather at our Banyan Tree Café for prayer and worship. The first night there was an overwhelming sense that God wanted to do some healings within the group of people.

            Last Tuesday night, there were around 30 people gathered together at the café and they felt called to start praying for healings over people. The 30 people broke up into groups and asked, “who needs prayer.” The people who raised their hands were the ones who were surrounded by other people to start praying for them. There were around 5 groups of people hovering around 1 person as they all placed their hands on that person’s body.  Prayer began to fill the air as people started proclaiming healing over people’s bodies and for sicknesses, ailments and deformed body parts. God began to work a miracle in many people’s lives and healings began to occur! Legs were grown out, backs were completely healed and miracle after miracle, God showed up. It’s important that you know that none of us have the ability to heal-only God does to this extent. He does give us the authority to Heal through His name and power though. 

  Mark 16:15-18 declares, “In my name, you will heal the sick and they will be healed.” Part of the Great Commission is to lay hands on the sick expecting God to heal. This is an act of faith and asking God to Heal, in JESUS’ name! Also, Luke 10:19 declares how All authority in Heaven and on earth is given to Jesus. “I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” Also, Matthew 28 and Mark 16 go into this more.

These are testimonies of healings on Tuesday night!

-Carleen, one of my good friends has had a knee that has been rotated inward for most of her life. It has caused her lots of pain and has affected her playing sports over the years. She had arthritis in it for years. As people started praying over it, it began to straighten out. People prayed for a little while and as they continued to watch her knee, it grew out completely. If you look at her now, both of her knees are completely straight and her knee is no longer rotated inward. She has no more pain in her knees and now can walk and be physically active with no pain.

-Tomas, a guy in my DTS was born with one leg shorter than the other. This has also caused pain in his back and one of his big toes is probably ½ inch shorter than his other toe. He has always had problems buying shoes because one foot and toe is shorter than the other.  As people began to pray over it and place their hands on his feet, his toe began to grow out including his leg. 

-Allie, one of my leaders has had many problems with her back as well. She hasn’t been able to stand for long periods of time due to pressure in her back. She was born with an extra vertebra. As a group of us placed our hands on her back, we began to pray for healing over her back. During the time that we were praying over her, I was sure I felt a small shift on one of her vertebrae. She also told us that she had felt a small shift as well. We prayed for awhile and after around 5 minutes, Allie told us that the pain had disappeared from her back. Of course, an X ray is the only way to see if the extra vertebrae is still there.

-Marie, my roommate was healed of scoliosis that evening as well.

- A girl in another DTS was born with one of her thumbs shorter than the other. It was visibly at least ½ inch shorter than the other thumb. People gathered around her and began to pray over her and God decided to heal her and allow her thumbs to grow out to be the same length.

- Jenn, another girl in my DTS was in a car accident a few years ago and her hips have not been aligned for awhile. This has messed up her back as well and when she walks, on of her hips is higher than the other.  As people began to pray over her, her hips became realigned to be at the same height and her back was realigned.

*These are just a few of some testimonies of healings that occurred that evening. Within a course of a few weeks, there has been over 45 healings of all different ailments, sicknesses, broken body parts ect. I’ve learned time and time again that we cannot limit God and His power to heal. Nothing is to hard for Him and He will Heal in His timing. WE must meet the practical needs and come to God during these times and when we feel as if we need Him to do the impossible. All Glory to God! In HIS Name, he gives us the power and authority to heal.

Monday, Feb 13^th

This week we had the privilege of hearing from Danny Leeman, who is an Evangelist. He spoke on what it means to be a disciple which means “learner.” In order to be a disciple, we need to be disciplined!

Spiritual Discipline:

1. Bible Reading 2. Bible study 3. Bible Meditation 4.Bible Recitations  5.Bible Hearing

-Be faithful to what God tells us to do. Ministry is doing the next thing that God tells us to do.

-worldview- affecting every part of our life.

There are 2 roads we can take: 1. broad road to destruction 2. narrow road to God.

When we go into the world, we are to not necessarily make decisions for other people, but we are to make disciples. Faith should be the thing keeping us going. Walk by faith and not by sight.

-Faith that is not tested cannot be trusted.

-Discipline yourself for the purpose of Godliness

-There’s a difference between being fired up and being on Fire for God.

-“You can’t make God known, until you KNOW HIM!”

-The Bible says we are to be concerned about the Lord’s affairs on earth. Kingdom of Heaven here on earth.

-Matthew 6:33 “Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be given to you.”

-Definition of love: willing benefit of the other person.

-At least 2 billion people have Never heard the Gospel. We are called to be the Salt of the earth (Matthew 5) and Lights of the world. God commands us to come under His authority, control and power. He will direct us in His steps.

-We need to go into the spheres of the community and ask God how we can influence and change the nation.

-“missionary”-one that is sent!

        Today we had our last day of Justice Water for Equipping Tracks! It has been a wonderful 5 weeks of being trained by Justice Water to make Bio sand filters, latrines, sinks, hand pumps, rain catchment tanks and how to purify water through Moringa seeds and the steps to purifying water. I have learned so much and we were all given opportunities to build these things that I just mentioned after being carefully instructed. Every Monday we spent 2 hours training in the afternoons on how to become effective in making different useful gadgets. When we go on outreach, we know are more prepared to bring our knowledge and understanding oversees to show people how to make water filters, sinks, latrines ect. We also were given packets with step by step instructions on how to construct these things. I know this is a very important skill to bring overseas when we go out to our different locations because contaminated water leads to millions of deaths each year. This upcoming Monday we will start our Health Care Equipping Track which I am very excited about! As I am here at YWAM, I feel as if the Lord is increasing

desire to pursue something in health care when I return. Please pray that the Lord will continue to reveal this passion of mine and lead me in His ways to either attending a college or attend another secondary school under YWAM called Introduction to Primary Health Care. I do believe that I will go home after DTS for a few months to work as a CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) either in a retirement home or in home care. For those of you who don’t know, I took a CNA course and now I’m certified in Washington state. I would love to put this skill to work and serve the elderly and work within the medical field.

Tuesday, Feb 24^th

Danny Leeman spoke on many things today. One of them was Biblical worldview and how important it is for Christians to be involved in the sphere of government. We need to keep with the Biblical worldview though. If we want to influence a generation, we need to get involved in the sphere of other influences. We are to do what God has called us to do within the sphere we feel called to.

2 Peter 1:10 discusses how we are to make our calling and election sure as believers. We are to do the next big thing that God calls us to do. Our calling is what we do to serve God. With the calling of God comes the grace of God.

“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Psalm 37

-Instead of focusing on what God is doing next in our lives, we need to focus on what God is doing NOW!  Trust Him even in the darkness.

-Our obedience to God can literally save lives.

-God created the world for Good (genesis 1)- we made the choice to sin and therefore brought evil into the world. He gave us the gospel and the choice to follow Him. Satan has come to steal, kill and destroy. God did not bring about evil. As humans, we chose to sin. (Adam and Eve fell into sin which lead to the fall of mankind)

Ephesians 6-we are not to wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers and spiritual forces of evil in the Heavenly realms.

Today we had prayer room during the afternoon. We worshipped and involved ourselves in intercession to pray for President Obama, the government, and that He would see God and become a follower of the Most High God. Praying for His salvation and for His choices. God did some miraculous things as people were seeing visions of President Obama, his wife and two kids.

Tuesday evening was such a blast because two girls from my DTS arranged a Valentines Day party! Everyone got all dressed up and it was the first time for the majority of us to take time to put on makeup, do our hair, and put on dresses! The two girls, Lisbeth and Macy and gone shopping prior to our party for food, decorations ect and had set up the classroom with streamers, balloons and had put a colorful peace of paper on each chair so everyone could go around and write words of encouragement for each person. Music filled the air as people snapped pictures. We all ate some yummy goodies consisting of cake, cookies, ice cream sundaes and other snacks.  We played interactive games just so we could bond together as a DTS family. Together we danced and sang. By the end of the night, everyone took home a big card of encouraging words and words of affirmation to put in their rooms.

Wednesday, Feb 15^th!

Danny Leeman focused much of today on our prayer life.

ACTS: Adoration, Confession, Thanksgiving and Supplication

Psalm 100:4 “Enter into His presence with thanksgiving and His courts with praise.”

Get a hold of truth! Be honest with God.

Grace is an unmerited favor. We are to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.

-Faith that is not tested cannot be trusted.

-True Discipleship comes with discipline

As you can see, I am only touching on a few key points in his sermon but Danny was just an amazing speaker! He highlighted spiritual and Bible disciplines very well, including Evangelism and the best way to administer that. We each have different gifts and talents according to 1 Corinthians 12 and we are to use them to glorify God.

Wednesday afternoon we met with our outreach teams and broke up into pairs to share  what all we have been learning recently and what God has been revealing to us. We then got together as a team and discussed our highlights and lowlights of the weak and prayed over everyone.

At 5oclock, a group of around 15 of us pile into vans heading to a local middle school. We are fortunate that the middle school is just a 10 minute drive or so. As we arrive at the middle school, we all file out and began to make our way over to the playground where numerous kids were playing. Since we have to wait till 6 to serve the meals to the Marshallese kids and families for the after school program, we began to engage in conversations with the kids and involve ourselves in their hacky sack and bouncy ball games. Many of our guys were drawn to the little boys playing soccer and football as the majority of us girls played hacky sack and foursquare with other kids on the premise. Six oclock finally rolled around as we filed into the cafeteria. Half of us went behind the tables to serve the meal while the other part of our team got in line with the kids to eat the meal with them. Twenty minutes later or so, we switch duties and take turns engaging with the children.

     As I went through the line to get my meal, I sat down next to a group of little boys and Jordan, a guy in my India outreach team from New Zealand.  A little boy whom Jordan was communicating with immediately caught my attention. He was 8 years old and Jordan was asking the little boy to teach him Bible stories. Excitement filled the little boy’s face as he began to share Bible story after Bible story with Jordan. I began to ask questions for the little boy about his favorite Bible story and found out his favorite story is of Samson and he showed me how much strength Samson had- by lifting up his little arms and showing me his muscles. It totally made my night to hear him teach us his favorite Bible stories because he had such a fascination with Jesus and the stories he has heard in Sunday school. We are continuing to build relationships with these precious kids and am excited to see what happens next time!

Pure Heart Week/ Heart Restoration

This week we have a lovely couple, Tom and Donna Cole who have been speaking to us about heart restoration which has definitely been an emotional journey for many people filled with lots of inner healing. Both Tom and Donna have amazing testimonies in which they were both caught up in homosexuality earlier in life and suffered through abuse of all sorts, hurt, pain and huge burdens. As they got older, they were able to encounter God and become saved. They both have such powerful testimonies that touches many lives as they shared their hearts and vision to see hearts be renewed and restored.
      During the first day, they were sharing on the BeAttitudes talked about in Matthew 5. For example, verse 3 states, "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. vs 4 Blessed are those who mourn for they will be comforted."
-We are to come before God absolutely in need of Him-with empty hands, bowing before Him.
-God created us to be in relationship with HIM and others.
-our weakness leads us to God. 2 Corinthians 12:5-10 discusses how through our weakness, we are made strong through Christ Jesus. "My strength is made perfect in your weakness, For when I am weak, I am strong."
-We cant get a NEED met until we are open and ADMIT the need to others and God.

      Father Heart
-Jesus referred to God as Father (Abba)
-Mothers teach us how to recieve
-God gives men a distinct voice of authority.
-Fathers have the authority to:
1. Name their children: a name speaks identity over us.
2. Nurture and Admonish Children: Father's role is to provide correction protection and boundaries.
3. Authority to Bless children: we are always looking for Gods blessing for us and our earthly father's blessing. As daughters, we always want to know if we are beautiful and loved by our father.
-the father's voice calls the women into womanhood and fathers into fatherhood.

Confession
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.

FEMINIITY
-God created a women's heart to be open and full.
-God says, "It is not good for man to be alone." Job 38:4-7 and Genesis
-psalm 139: God knit us together in our mother's womb and knew us before we were born.
-God put Adam into a deep sleep while in the Garden of Eden and GOd created Eve from Adam's rib.
-the word, "woman" means taken from man. God made a "help mate, sustainer" beside Adam.
-Ephesians 5, 1 Corinthians 7 and 1 Peter 3 discuss the roles of women and men, marriage and relationships.
-Husbands love your wives just as Christ loves the church.
-Women are meant to Respond. We are to "be before the Lord." Men are "doers" before God.

Masculinity:
Matthew 5:9 "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God."
-God gave a job to Adam right away to have dominion over the animals to name them.
-God placed a desire for men to work.
-Often men get satisfaction from work but often they find their identity in ther work.
-God placed a desire in men to have a conqueror mentality. to "Go and subdue the earth and take dominion." men are competitive and conquerors.
-God created man out of the dust of the earth-therefore he placed a desire in their hearts to explore the outdoors, to be active and moving.
-God's desire is for man to come to a point where they are no longer passive. They are to be released from passivity and turned towards iniation.
-they need to learn to channel their strengths.
-Men are to be focused on 1. God 2. Wives and Family 3. Community 4. Themselves

Miracle!!

It is absolutely soo amazing how God works!! He performs miracles in His timing and when a group of believers are praying in unity! As you all know, many students owe thousands of dollars before this friday because the entire lecture and part of the outreach fee is due. So we really just met the Lord last night in our classroom. We began to pray constantly and ask the Lord for a miracle. We added up all the fees to which people needed by Friday and the total was $,93,198!! Sounds like an impossible amount to raise right??? Well let me just say God is sooo good!
     Once all of us saw this sum, we all were very scared and anxious because if people didnt have their lecture fees paid by this Friday, then they could be asked to leave YWAM. So you understand the importance of having everyones lecture fee paid by friday which is $3995. One of the girls in my DTS, Sequoyah still owed $3945 for her lecture and around seven other people still owed good chunks of their lecture cost. One of my friends, Joseph still owed $2400 and my other friend Gabby still owed $2000. So that gives you an idea of how much people still owe. We all began to pray and worship God through song and lifting our voices to Him. Some people shared stories to how God has provided for them in the past and how he has gotten them to YWAM. It was so encouraging to hear how God had provided for finances and how he still is. Our DTS spent probably an hour at least in prayer, worship, sharing stories and then GOd put it on our hearts to GIVE to one another. The amazing thing is that alot of us who really dont have money to give away, Gave to our fellow classmates because we felt as if God would bless us in multiplying the money and providing.  Right then and there, we began to ask GOD for direction and asking Him if we sho7uld give money to a fellow classmate and how much. So when we felt called to give money to someone else, we went to the front of the room and got a blank piece of paper and wrote the person's name along with how much we wanted to give the person. I know one girl who said that she just sold her car to make money for outreach and she felt called by God to give the money away to another student for their lecture and outreach cost. She did this because she felt God was telling her to do this and that GOd would bless her with abundantly because of this decision of obedience. Other people gave hundreds and thousands of dollars while others were able to contribute other amounts. It was kept in secrecy for the most part so I dont know all what people gave. I just know it was between them and God. One person at a time made their way to the front of the classroom to get a piece of paper to give money away to another person. More people followed and within a few minutes, people were coming to the front to write more I owe You's and promises of money on the sheets of paper and then returning the sheets to the basket. This continued probably for 20 minutes or so! It was the most beautiful thing just seeing God lead in such  a way that he was leading hearts to rely on Him completely and give money that people needed for their own outreach , in order to help someone else out. Its just like the phrase, "you sow what you reap."
   The leaders wrote down all the names of people on the board who still needed money and the amounts that people owed. As money began to come in, the leaders began to calculate the money being contributed. As we all watched in anticipation, I remember just watching a huge smile spread across two of my leaders' faces as they took an eraser and erased the $3,945 that Seqoyah needed by Friday for lecture and as they erased that number, one of my leaders took a marker and wrote that Seqoyah now had $7,535 that people from all over our class had donated generously to her!!!!! Jaws dropped around the classroom as we all raised a shout to the Lord and started praising Jesus that she now had her entire lecture fee covered and part of her outreach cost paid for!!!! I looked back at her and she stood there just completely shocked and in awe of God and the miracle that had just happened!!!!
    But thats not all!!! Other people's amounts began to also get erased!! Gabby, Joseph, Lisbeth and many others who had large sums of money that still needed to be owed began to decrease in amount. Within just a few minutes, all of the people who still had large sums of lecture fees that they owed, were completely ERASED and by the generosity of the class and God's obedience, everyone now has their ENTIRE lecture fee paid for!!! GOD is sooooo good!!!! Other people began to also contribute money to people's outreach fees and I believe 3 people's outreach fees are completely paid for!! I'm just going to say again!! This shows the Power of God and the power when we choose to Obey Him full heartedly and give money even though we needed that money for our own outreach, but God blessed everyone abundantly and He is still blessing us $those acts of obedience. It's not that he will bless us either or, but He blesses us with Both and More!!! The most amazing thing is that we started off with our DTS owing $93,198 on Friday and it decreased to $25,679.86!!!! This number alone just shows the power of the Holy SPirit! Around $14,000 was given from fellow classmates and leaders to other classmates within the time span of 2 1/2 hrs last night!! This is beyond amazing and this shows the power of the Holy Spirit to provide!! I believe that in some ways that God multiplied this money because $14,000 is a ton of money given within one night!!
     Please continue praying for all of us though! There is still $25,679.86 that my DTS owes by Friday and we are stilll in lost of need. Please be praying constantly about this and that God will continue to work and provide! and if anyone feels called to help support me financially, please let me know!!

Financial SUPPORT!

Well as you know, God has miraculously been working in this campus and has been changing Lives every day! I want to thank you very much to those who have donated towards my DTS costs for YWAM! They have tremendously helped and I am very blessed by all your generosity!

I cannot believe that my outreach costs are already having to get paid! The downpayment of $2500 is due this Friday. Every team is still trying to determine their exact outreach costs including my team that is going to India at the end of March! I know God is faithful, therefore, I am actively praying about this downpayment and wondering how exactly these funds will get paid for.. If you feel called to help support me financially, please go to the tab, "ways to help" on my blog and there is instructions on there to help support me. If everyone could just pray for me and the rest of my team, in that we will be able to find some way to Provide the money needed for outreach, that would be Amazing!!! Please!! Please! Please!!! Updates

Greetings Everyone! I just want to let you know that God is doing some pretty radical things here on campus! We have a new speaker every week and each speaker brings a new message and a new dynamic to campus! Some of the key points that have been brought up in sermons are the following:
 
Darlene Cunningham, wife of Loren Cunningham, who is the founder of YWAM spoke a few times last week to us. She is a great inspiration to the students because of her radical obedience to GOD in serving Him all her life and fulfilling His vision for the founding of YWAM. She spoke on how we are to walk in Joy with GOD which will give us the joy filled life of repentance.
-We are to be leaning forward in the Spirit and trusting that God will arouse a dream in our hearts.
-Jesus asks us to do the Possible and He will do the Impossible! He will Provide :)
-God provides Comfort because He understands our Circumstances.
-When God begins to speak out new dreams, we must Folow them out.
-It takes us living our dreams and recognizing the Call of God on my life.
-Fear robs the world of the Dreams that God has yet to reveal to us. We cant let fear grip us.
-We are to obey God without negotiation! We are to radically obey instead of Negotiating with God.

Heidi Baker came and spoke to us last wednesday! She is a missionary from Mozambique, Africa and many years ago, the Lord blessed her with the gift of Healing. 1 Corinthians 12 discusses spiritual gifts. So God blessed her with the gift of healing regarding the deaf. 99.999999% of the people that she has prayed over have gone from being deaf to being able to hear! For some people, its the first time in their lives they have been able to hear and others might have been deaf for a few years, and they are healed of it!!! She is an amazing, well known woman who was called into missions at age 18. She loves taking care of orphans and her favorite place to minister in Mozambique is in the garbage dumps and the slums. Heidi lives in a mud hut and has completely immersed herself in the culture and the Lord uses her constantly to witness and to basically be a momma to hundreds of orphans. Along with her husband and 2 kids, they reside in Africa where they continually work with this ministry. Heidi travels and speaks in conferences and at other ministries to share the Love of God and her heart for missions. She is such an inspiration as well! Filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, she delivered a powerful message highlighting the characters of God and being obedient to God.
-God wants to chop away our unbelief! '
-When we are free of unbelief, we are free to see the Gospel move radically.
-Never be drawn away from intimacy with Jesus.
-Dont try to walk in someone else's Annointing, walk in your own shoes!!!
-We each have a specific call and annointing by God!
-If you obey God's commands, you will Remain in His love!

Schedule of events!

I bet many of you wonder what my day looks like on a daily basis during the week. Every day is very different and has scheduled events, activities, lectures, worship and meals that we must attend. Below is the schedule of events for every day!
Monday:

7-7:45 Our own personal God time. (Devos)
8-9 Ohana Court Worship: All the DTS' and staff get together for woship in our big Ohana court
9-9:30 Catch up from the weekend
9-12:30 Lecture time with a speaker

2-4 Equipping tracks: The first 5 weeks of DTS are focused on Justice Water (which is an organization that was started here and we are taught how to make bio sand filters, water pumps and basically how to provide and built clean water filters) This is very handy when we go oversees because we are being educated on how to build water pumps to provide clean drinking water.
5-6:30 dinner
6:30-8:30 ministry night: a few of the DTS' get together in the prayer room for worship, intercession and prayer.

9-9:30 you preach
9-12:30 lecture
12:30 lunch
2-4 small groups meet up and pray for countries we are going to
5-Dinner
Family fun nights

Saturday and Sunday
Every other weekend, I have work duty. SO i work in the cafeteria every other weekend for 16 hrs prepping for meals, serving meals and cleaning up. They are very long days but I enjoy every day here!
